The Resource Specialist (SPARC) is responsible for assisting homeless individuals with placement into shelters. This role requires compassion and understanding of the homeless population of those who may be struggling to decide to enter the shelter. The Resource Specialist will support them with resources and support services, provide guidance, and connect them to placement in a shelter. Must be flexible and have computer skills to navigate general use and learn guest databases. Must have the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Bi-lingual preferred (English/Spanish).
The Lead Kitchen Support Staff (Pilsen) is responsible for leading and collaborating with the kitchen staff to ensure regular planning and preparing healthy meals for all shelter guests; for the upkeep and maintenance of the shelter kitchen, appliances, and pantries; and for managing and utilizing donated and purchased food items utilized by shelter guests.

Hours vary depending on the shelter location.

The Site Support Staff (SPARC) is considered an essential position and supports this mission by providing direct services, assuring the safety and security of program participants, helping them adapt to community living and program policies, and ensuring the effective operation of the site program. Hours vary depending on the site location. SPARC serves as a critical hub for homeless individuals to access emergency shelters and supportive services in the City of Chicago.
The Case Manager provides case management services, support, and referrals to appropriate services as needed to FO guests. The Case Manager works respectfully with populations experiencing homelessness and understands how to engage people who have likely experienced trauma and challenging life circumstances. The Case Manager completes assessments and accesses community resources and support services; the case manager must be flexible and have computer skills to navigate general use and learn the client database.
The Maintenance Support Staff is responsible for providing general maintenance and janitorial services to all the Franciscan Outreach facilities, ensuring a clean and safe environment for clients and staff. This includes performing various maintenance tasks, stocking and receiving, transporting equipment and materials, and assisting with other facility-related activities.
